  1. I see the possibility that you did not mean your last sentence so very seriously, but basically you are avoiding a very real problem: it is not very good for Finland (or any other society) if talent and/or motivation remains unused, if alcoholism is the number one cause of death for men of working-age, if somebody who is growing strawberries at a commercial scale is hiring a Unkrainian family for the picking job, ”because Finnish teenagers (presumably both boys and girls) will chat the working time away with their cell phones” …
Thus, how to cultivate the talent and motivation of boys (and girls, but it seems that the boys need it more)? My own impressions concerning the problem are very close observations of the drinking habits among a group of men about 40 years old, plus the very fresh impression of a group of young guys (plus one girl) going to the centre of Helsinki by train on a Saturday afternoon, obviously for some fun (also the girl had a half-litre bottle of Suomi Viina in her luggage) … . They were not at all unfriendly, but still: how to get reasonably well-functioning members of society from them?
Might it be necessary to do more research about the developmental biology/psychology of teenagers? I see the possibility that boys and girls are developing at different speeds, also develop very different fields of interest (partly under the influence of the media, but how to stop the media?), all of which can be found out by psychological testing. Part of these differences can perhaps be taken care of by offering (at the gymnasium level) courses which are better adjusted to the different lines of motivation. If boys in the later teens should need a break, it might be an idea to admit them earlier than usual to the army before they continue their professional training afterwards. And there are of course other concepts of schooling which might well be worth studying in some detail – to my own mind comes the ”polytechnical” education in the former DDR as well as the still existing German system of apprenticeship, both of which offer more physical contact to the objects of study than the present system.
But before such concrete recommendations are fed into a discussion with feminists, anti-feminists, etc. it might be best to do the necessary research first (as far as not done already).
